When looking for a great dinner or a night out on the town, the night life of downtown St. Cloud boasts a variety in bars and night clubs. There is quite a variety of bars in downtown St. Cloud including the Red Carpet, MC’s Dugout Bar and Grill, the Veranda Lounge, the Brick and Bourbon, Howie’s Sports Bar and Grill, the Pickled Loon, Jules Bistro, the Kohinoor Bar and Grill, the Olde Brick House, and the Stihl Wolf.

Downtown is located just north of Division Street, just west of the Mississippi River. It is only a few blocks away from the Saint Cloud State University campus.

The Red Carpet

The Red Carpet Nightclub is the premier nightclub in downtown St. Cloud. It has several areas and stages within the night club such as the Main Stage, Martini Lounge, Keller Bar, Club Red, Game Room and Events Center. It offers many options for the discerning bar aficionado. 

The Main Stage

The main stage offers a variety of live bands. Acts as LA Guns, Bret Michaels, and Hairball have played here. Many regional acts and local artists have performed live. 

The Martini Lounge

The Martini Lounge offers clientele high-end martinis in different flavors as well as other cocktails and wine. The ambience provides visitors an enticing environment to unwind with friends. 

The Keller Bar

The Keller Bar provides all the variety that serious attendees demand.

The game room is upstairs and includes pool tables and darts. There is a bartender there too, so the party can go on without interrupting action to venture downstairs to refill drinks. How convenient! 

The Event Center

The event center can host parties, business meetings, and formals. The event center at the Red Carpet can host 194 guests for formal seating. This is a great location for weddings.

Club Red

Club Red is has a dedicated DJ to playing Top 40 hits on Friday and Saturday nights.

Lastly, the Red Carpet is dedicated to serving multiple audiences; Tuesday through Thursday nights are dedicated to cribbage leagues (Fall 2022 schedule).

The menu at MC’s Dugout offers normal bar fare including burgers, salads, sandwiches, tacos, and appetizers. But the options and flavor combinations far exceed typical bar food. Lobster stuffed mushrooms with sherry garlic butter, feta cheesse, butter panko and sourdough toast is one such appetizer. Yum!

The Veranda Lounge

Part of Pioneer Place entertainment complex, the Veranda Lounge offers and extensive wine list as well as that specialty drink you have been craving. 

Specials

Happy hour is daily to 6 pm with 50 percent off wine and tap beer. The lounge is open Wednesday through Saturday, opening at 4 pm. Live music is included on Friday and Saturday nights, starting at 8 pm. Late-night hours go until 1 am on Friday and Saturday nights. The Veranda Lounge is located at 22 5th Ave. S., St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The Brick and Bourbon

This bar and restaurant are high-end. It offers unique drink options, beer, cocktails, and bourbon. The menu is creative and prices are moderately-high for a bar-grill atmosphere. For those visitors wanting adventure in their nightlife, then a trip to this establishment should be on your list. The Brick and Bourbon is located at 119 5th Ave. S., St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The Olde Brick House Irish Pub

The Olde Brick House is a traditional Irish pub and restaurant located just two blocks from the River’s Edge Convention Center. It is just the place to go if you are looking to fill a little down time.

Irish Menu

The menu goes far beyond traditional burgers and tacos found at typical bars. It also includes entres like ribeye steak, delicious salad options, pasta and plenty of “traditional fare” including Guinness fish and chips and shepherd’s pie.

Group Gatherings

There are two banquet or meeting rooms available. They seat 20 and 50 guests repsectively, and are both located in the upper floor of the Olde Brick House allowing both rooms to be rented for up to 70 or so people. We have attended a private event here and it was fantastic. The food and service were supurb. The staff was friendly. It was a great experience. This location would work great for grooms dinners, birthday party, corporate functions, business luncheons or any other group gathering. It has a very enjoyable yet distinguished feel.

Howie’s Sports Bar and Grill

This bar prides itself on being the venue where you can hang out with friends and watch the latest game. Menu items include the standard fare including burgers, fries, salads, appetizers, and pizza. Many patrons order wings from the menu. Howie’s Sports Bar and Grill is located at 101 9th Ave. N., St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The Pickled Loon

Of the bars in St. Cloud, the most inventive and original name goes to this establishment. The specialty item here surprisingly is cake. With different unique options to choose from including candy bar, cereal, ice cream, and fruit-inspired cakes, the discerning dessert fiend will be in heaven here. According to the business website, there are 27 different cake options to choose from. How about a drink with your dessert? Wine and specialty liquor blends are part of the normal drink fare at the Pickled Loon. Wine options include red, white, and rose varieties. Beer and seltzers are also available if a tourist is of that vein. Mix a little music in – Karaoke is Thursday nights with Top 40 Hip Hop on Friday and Saturday nights – and the party is sure to start. The Pickled Loon is located at 715 W. Jules’ Bistro

This restaurant offers and extensive list of drinks to go with your food. Options include cider, beer, red wine, white wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. The cider and beer options are too numerous to mention, but the variety is unique. According to the business’ website, red wine options include red blends, pinot noir, malbec, tempranillo, zinfandel, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot. White wine options include Riesling, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, chenin blanc, pinot grigio, rose, gewurztraminer, and prosecco. Jules’ Bistro is located at 921 W. The Kohinoor Bar and Grill

Coming with excellent reviews from patrons, the Kohinoor Bar and Grill offers excellent North Indian food at an affordable price. Everything from unconventional appetizers and an extensive offering of main entrees, the restaurant offers a variety of flavors for those with discerning palettes. The restaurant’s website includes a link to a website where customers can order their own Indian spices. Drinks include a great variety of specialty cocktails. The Kohinoor Bar and Grill is located at 177th Ave. S., St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The Stihl Wolf

According to the establishment’s Facebook page, Happy Hour is Tuesday through Thursday with great specials at 2 for 6 dollars and 2 for 7 dollars. Food includes the noteworthy pizza bar. Don’t miss the specialty cocktails. The Stihl Wolf is located at 515 W. St. Germain, St. Cloud, Minnesota.
